In each book, Ricky Ricotta, a mouse, with the help of his mighty robot, saves the world from an evil villain. Also, the books each have an alien creature from a different planet in order from closest-to-sun to farthest-from-sun excluding Earth, as the villain of the first book is from Earth. The reader could see the villains being jailed in each series and later notice the familiar villains from previous books. So far, the villains being jailed are Dr. Stinky McNasty, Mr. Mosquito, Victor von Vulture, Major Monkey,
General Jackrabbit, Sergeant Stinkbug, and Uncle Unicorn. The books appeal to
young children with a "Flip-O-Rama" section. In these sections, the reader can

Tales of the Frog Princess by Ed Baker
There are 3 books in this set: The Frog Princess, Dragon's Breath, & Once Upon a Curse. There are also others in this series by Ed Baker that I will try to order for the library if these three are well-liked!
The Frog Princess- Princess Emeralda a.k.a. Emma isn't exactly an ideal princess. Her laugh is more like a donkey's bray than tinkling bells, she trips over her own feet and she does not like Prince Jorge, whom her mother hopes she will marry. But if Emma ever thought to escape her troubles, she never expected it to happen by turning into a frog! When convinced to kiss a frog so he might return to being a prince, somehow the spell is reversed and Emma turns into a frog herself! Thus begins their adventure--a quest to return to human form. Fascinating and hilarious characters ranging from a self-conscious but friendly bat to a surprisingly loyal snake and a wise green witch confirm that readers won't soon forget this madcap story. mistake. The neighboring kingdom has chosen this moment to attack, and if Emma
can't get Grassina's mind back on protecting the kingdom, life as they know it
in Greater Greensward will be in peril. From underwater sea monsters to
fire-breathing dragons, this witty pair of young friends manages to sweet-talk,
cajole, and race their way to victory. But when it looks as if everything will
finally work out, disaster strikes, and Emma finds that magic is not enough-it
takes real bravery and a strong, new friendship to succeed.

herself, is determined to break the spell once and for all. Emma travels back in
time to the day the curse was placed on her ancestor in the hope of preventing
the curse from being cast. Unfortunately she isn't successful in her efforts,
but she does learn how to break it. Armed with this knowledge, Emma returns to
her own time full of hope. But disaster ensues and Emma is about to give up

The Wrong Kind of Bark by Julie Donaldson
Finlay spends his time in his classroom
watching the little fish in the tank, or the little bird at the construction
scaffolding outside. As a result, he brings all the wrong things to school that
he's been told to bring. Flour for flower, screws and nuts for tree and ground
nuts. The comedy of errors results in Finlay bringing in a puppy instead of a
piece of bark from a tree! The story is quite lengthy but repetitive, so it's
helpful to sustaining the young reader's attention. Finlay may lack focus but
his heart is in the right place. Of course he saves the day! Suitable for developing readers 6 to 8. It's a "red banana" in the Egmont banana series.

The Library Dragon by Carmen Agra Deedy
When Sunrise Elementary advertised for a thick-skinned librarian with a burning love of books, Miss Lotta Scales knew she was perfect for the job. Who could guard books better than a REAL dragon?
"She kept a fiery eye out to make sure no one removed any books
from the shelves...
The very thought of sticky little
fingers
touching
and
clutching,
pawing
and
clawing
smearing
and
tearing
her precious books just made her hot under the collar."
The teachers, singed and scorched, formed a delegation. But not
even sweet Miss Lemon could convince Miss Lotta Scales that "the library
belonged to the children."
Fortunately, nearsighted Molly Brickmeyer stumbles into a copy of "Snuff the Magic Dragon" and reads the tale out loud. Her storytelling beckons the children back to the library and brings them face to face with the Library Dragon.
Can an open book temper the flames of the school's hot-headed librarian?
