Comment below....What are you reading this week?
All Morgan Elementary students K-5 have a summer reading goal. This goal is similar to the regular quarter goals throughout the school year. The classroom teachers sent a note home the last week of school with your child's individual reading goal. If you did not receive one or have misplaced yours, feel free to contact your child's teacher or me at 270-444-5760 or [email protected]).
We want our students to continue reading all summer long. Summer is a great time to catch up on those long novels, books from your wish list, and new titles. The school library will be open on Thursdays form 4-7pm all summer. Come on in and get some books to read. McCracken County Library is also available for other great books 7 days a week. They have a summer reading program as well. See their website www.mclib.net for more information about their summer program. I would love to see all of my Morgan readers this summer, so come on in! Hope to see you soon! On Friday, February 28, 2014, Morgan Elementary students participated in Renaissance Place's annual Read the Most from Coast to Coast event. The goal was to read as many books as possible that day and take AR tests on those books. The readers at Morgan Elementary read 1,541 books that day! WOW!
Throughout the day, the students got to add a square piece of paper to a class picture for each test they passed. Below are each class's picture. |
My name is Mrs. Kelly Veatch. This will be my 21st year of teaching at Morgan Elementary. I am so excited to be a school librarian. I love reading and books, and I love to share my passion of reading with the students at Morgan Elementary! I am looking forward to a wonderful school year.
